Activities / Clubs / Organizations at Gorham High School

 School Council                                  Advisor: Mr. Record

School Council is made up of 10 students and 10 teachers.  This newly created council is an opportunity for teachers and students to have an equal say about current issues that are arising in school.  Both students and teachers are also welcome to fill out a “proposal form” which is what the council debates to help fix.  All grievances are discussed and a solution is voted on.  There needs to be a 60 percent majority for the solution to be passed which means teachers cant over power the students and vice versa.  It’s a great experience for any student who is interested in making a difference in the school system.

SCHOLA      (YEARBOOK)                         Advisor: Mr. Wojtal, room 150

Members of this club put together our school year book every year. They take pictures of students during school as well as pictures of all the members of clubs and athletics. The year book staff not only collects pictures but they are the ones who put the year book together in such a way that all of us can look back and remember our years here at Gorham High School.  The yearbook is completed digitally.

About Northern Force Team 172

Robotics and automation are a major part of life. Nearly everything that is made uses some kind of automation or computer remote control. People used to be afraid that robots would take away jobs, but the truth is that someone has to think up robots, someone has to design them, someone has to build them, and someone has to operate them. Right here in Maine, high school students are thinking up robots, designing them, building them, and operating them. And each year, a new team of students has an opportunity to put their skills to work along side the nation's finest engineers.

Northern Force Team 172, is made up of technology students from Gorham High School and Falmouth High School. This team makeup has competed each year since 2003, though our team's rookie year was actually 1996.
